William R asked: My mother who is in her late 80’s has had property left to her from her mother some 60 years ago. I need to make contact with someone familiar with the island of Lemnos Greece and familiar with Greek laws and real estate rules. There has been contact with the island within the past 10 years or so but nothing recently. I need help to locate exactly where the property is on the island before I make a trip there to decide what to do with it. I would like to clear this matter up while my mother is still alive. I had contact from someone named Toula from Lemnos but losy her info. Toula if your out there please contact me again. A lawyer or real estate person with Greek contacts in or near Philadelphia would be very helpful, or someone from the island who has contacts there. I can pay a little if help developes into resolving this matter. Thanks!

Christina B asked: Hi, i am having trouble on a problem involving real estate, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

“An investor is considering the purchase of a 11,000 sq foot warehouse that is expected to command $8.40 per square foot in annual rents. 2 comparable warehouses have recently sold in the market. comparable 1 measures 12,000 sq. ft and sold for $450,000.
comparable 2 measures 8,600 sq ft and sold for $322,500.
compute the gross income multiplier that is implied by these transactions and estimate the value of the subject property.

north bay asked: Does anyone have problem with Yahoo! Real Estate when using Firefox? The map display does not come out right where there is no map at all and the images where the houses are supposed to be are shown only with box frames. I’m using Firefox 2.0, had version 1.5 with the same problem as well. But it works right when I use it with IE.
I had firefox 1.5 and had the same problem with it. I then decided to update to 2.0 and the problem still persists.
I thought it might be a Java issue, and updated to the latest version earlier, still same problem.
It works fine with Yahoo! Map Beta, which I think is newer than the map display used by Real Estate, but for some reason the map just doesn’t show up in Real Estate; all I get are lots of empty box frames where the images should be.

Dave asked: To put it briefly, My retired inlaws met a reator who convinced them to buy a bigger house. with a mortgage payment which is more than they bring home in a month. The realtor had them refinance their current house and take all the equity out and put it down on the new house. My inlaws were under the impression that their old house was being sold and they were getting an advance on their equity. It has been 7 months and the old house has not been sold. I found out that it was never even put on the market and their isn’t even a sign in the yard. To top it all off, I found out that they couldn’t get qualified for a bigger house on a fixed income so the relator found someone to cosign their loan. Now there is someone who they don’t know on the title for the new house with the $130,000 equity. What can I do to help them?

How long have you been involved in the real estate field?
What types of property do you sell?
How many properties do you sell a year?
What is the most awarding part of the job?
What is the most difficult part of the job?
What was one of your most difficult closings and why?
Have you encountered any unethical real estate agent, buyer, or seller? What was the situation? What was the final outcome?
What advise would you give someone who may be contemplating entering the field?

evident asked: What are real estate investment trusts or REITs and how do they work. Is there some law that give these trust some tax efficiency status and how can investors invest in these REITs. With the real estate market in the US the way as it is, is it a good time to invest in the property market through real estate investment trusts. What kind of people manage these funds or trusts and what are their typical return on investments?
