mz.baby blue woah!!! asked:

.So im a senior in high school in Louisiana. I was wondering what courses exactly must I take in college to be successful in real estate. I want to major in business and marketing only to have something to fall back on if the market doesn’t pick up. Do i need to take financing or is business/marketing okay? I know i need to take real estate classes and everything but i need to know what college courses would help me more - business/ marketing or business/financing.?

Please and thank you.

Any of those classes would be helpful, but to become successful in real estate you need:
Expertise in all aspects of buying and selling homes (or commercial properties)
    Hard work
    Networking
    Excellent customer service
The ability to live on an unpredictable income stream
continuing education about the marketplace, legal issues, government regulations. Realtyyoudefine

I am both a teacher of RE and a RE broker, I will guide you free

here is data on RE pre-licensing schools; do not attend a regular
college for this particular licensure work. It is too long and costly.
[and it is fine to take on-line courses FOR RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS
    only.)

at your regular college, take any marketing classes you find interesting.
get back to me…….YOU need to make many “other” decisions
re FIDUCIARY DUTY; SELLER, OR BUYER, NEVER EVER rep both
    in a single transaction.

national franchise or independent; indep is better

    100% desk fees/keep the commission
    or
split the commission and no desk fees

if buyer’s agent, no NAR fees!!

merry xmas, happy new year kemperk

As usual, I wonder how much Kemperk drinks before posting.

In my neck of the woods, business and marketing is better than financing, as we cannot get involved in the financing end of things, they are seperate entities. You may want to check that out.

Marketing is king in RE, if I would have it to do over again, I would be there. godged
