Best way to start is to contact several large real estate companies in your area. Most offer training programs. (I'm with Long & Foster; I took L&F's program and it was very good.) Tip: Do it in as concentrated a way as possible. I did something like 3 evenings a week and all day Saturday for, I think, 4 weeks. You often can do all-day classes, too. Don't spread it out like one class a week. You'll never retain all that knowledge. When the class is done, you'll take a practice exam. If you pass, the company will certify that you've had the required hours of training. Then you take the state exam. If you pass the state exam, you pay your fees, affiliate with a brokre, and you're set to go. As I said, there are a number of good programs out there.
