How much does real estate agents earn?
thejascal asked:
Property prices in London keep on rising, so obviously easte agents commission also increases. It seems to be a good carrer to be in, but how big a cup from the deal does agents get, and do they also earn a fixed pay every month?

Agents make a percentage of every home they sell or buy for their clients. Most agents, unless they are working for a builder do not earn a regular wage, all commision. Some offices even charge office fees, but with them you get more commision. I would start at a free office, that way if it takes a few months to make a sale, you are not out any money. But, it is not that easy to get started. You need to pay for licensing classes, licensing tests, insurance, marketing, signs, and lock boxes for your listed properties. In the US it costs about 3,000 before you are all done, and then it’s all up to you to make the big bucks. GOOD LUCK! Lindsey

Don’t know how you blokes work, the Yank method is by
commission and you have a broker office that you work
through. The commission is usually 25% each to the listing
office, the selling office, the listing agent, and the selling agent.
The actual commission is negotiated with the seller and
usually ranges 7 - 10 % of the final selling price.
I’m sure laws and practices vary from state to state and
country to country though Mc Duff
