What is the difference between Real Estate tax and regular tax on a house?

Skywarn storm spotter MAN-477A asked:

Why is the real estate tax higher? Why do I have to pay real estate tax? I’m inheriting my grandmothers house. Is there any reason why I can’t pay regular tax? What are the laws about this in Manatee county, FL? Sources?

what do you mean by regular tax, like sales tax? sales of home is not taxable with state sales tax laws
yes, your g’mother paid real estate tax to the county, and you have now inherited her property, you will also be liable for the property tax(real estate) tro

    What are you talking about?
Each county assesses property taxes based on the value of the property, if that’s what you mean by real estate taxes.
What could you possibly be referring to when you say regular tax?
Do a little research; if you are inheriting this house, there must be an executor of the estate who can explain it to you. Realtyyoudefine

What do you mean “regular tax” on house??

Generally, it’s known as real estate tax or property tax, depending on the region of the country you live in; this is the tax you pay on a personal residence/any house you buy!!

Real estate tax rates vary depends on the county and state you live in!

Check your local town hall for the area’s property tax assessment! MrMojo1
