What Real Estate qualification do I need to buy properties for myself as an investor?

I want to start a business buying, renovating and selling properties. I would probably sell through a proper agent, but I’m interested in finding properties myself before they get to market. What qualification do I need to be able to access information only Real Estate Agents have access to? I’m not planning on actually working as an Agent.

In the US it’s called MLS, anyone know what it’s called in Australia?

You don’t have to have any qualifications, but learn how to pull your County Assessors office to find out how much they are paying in taxes for the appraised Real Estate when it was first purchased or when it was sold and for how much, it is public information, then go to a free mls listing web site like put a team together to help you IE:Realtor, title co., attoneys,sub-contractors and join any REO organizations you have available in your area if you have the credit or the cash you could be the hard money lender, or your own sorce of financing. gemgavin

If you want direct access you would need to have a valid real estate sales license. You can not directly access the information and you can not enter properties without the license. Landlord

There is a lot of aspects that you have to consider when buying. Location, cost of repair, neighborhood, land value etc…
You have to instinctively know a good property if you will become successful in the real estate business. And you can only do this if you are armed with the proper knowledge about real estate check this website out
